DANES BAKERY & WEDDING GALLERY THE - LIMERICK, IE

I wouldn't rate this place at all, I actually think a zero is more appropriate, we ordered a christening cake on Saturday evening, we came in to the place at closing time and offered to come back another time but were told it was ok. we picked the cake and put down a deposit. We found out later that day, that one of my partner's aunts was planning to do a cake for the christening so we decided to cancel. As the place was closed Saturday we decided to ring them first thing Monday to let them know and get our deposit back as they wouldn't have done anything yet since we booked at closing time and rang them back first thing the next working day. We were told we could only get half our deposit back as they had started the cake already, which seemed reasonable if they had. I went to the place to get the deposit back and enquired what was actually done for the cake. The owner told me they had done little flowers, so I asked to see this and wanted to take this with me seeing we paid for it already. She told me she wasn't wasting any more time on it and claimed that the work done was actually worth more than half our deposit. she basically hadn't done anything and took our money for writing in her diary, claiming then that the money was for the 15 minutes it took to arrange booking the cake. This is the worst place I've come across. They basically stole money from us in my opinion.
